This foundation course explores the emerging field of using neurotherapy to support oral health. Wellness therapists will gain a deeper understanding of the connection between the nervous system and oral health, and how neurotherapeutic interventions may be used as a complementary approach to promote a healthy mouth.
Course Description:
- Level: 2 (Foundation)
- Prerequisites: Successful completion of Level 1: Introduction to Neurotherapy or equivalent foundational training.
Course Objectives:
- Master the anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity, including the interaction with the nervous system.
- Explore the various pathologies affecting oral health and their potential links to stress and nervous system dysregulation.
- Learn to identify signs and symptoms of oral health concerns relevant to a neurotherapy practice.
- Integrate neurotherapy techniques into a holistic approach to address oral health concerns, emphasizing its role as a complementary therapy.
- Analyze current research on applying neurotherapy treatment points and formula theory for supporting oral health.
- Gain practical experience in applying (where applicable) neurotherapy treatment protocols for oral health support within the scope of practice of a wellness therapist.
- Develop proficiency in conducting comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate interventions for oral health concerns, recognizing when collaboration with dental professionals is necessary.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the course material through a comprehensive final exam.
